In the financial sector, he was General Manager of Impulsa Microfinance from 2007 to 2010 and Equifax Uruguay Country Manager from 2000 to 2006. He was General Manager of the Uruguayan Electronic Stock Exchange (1994-2000), General Manager of the Capital Markets Department at Surinvest Uruguay, (1992-1993) and Director of “Banco Comercial” in 1990.
As a private consultant, he provided advisory services to an American investment group on a real estate venture in José Ignacio, Uruguay (2010 – 2012). Advised PGG Wrightson in relation to the acquisition of companies and internal reorganization in 2007 and 2008. Additionally, he was involved in corporate reorganization and development processes in companies related to imports, real estate and information services.
Between 1990 and 1992, he worked for the Planning Office of the Presidency of the Republic and chaired the Privatization Coordination Commission.
In Washington DC, he worked in the financial area of MCI Telecommunications Inc. (1988-1989).
In the academic field, he was a member of the Catholic University Dean´s Financial Advisory Committee (2007-2012) and a Thesis tutor for Senior students at ORT Uruguay University (1995-2003).
He graduated from the School of Economics, University of the Republic (Uruguay) in 1982, and was awarded an MBA degree from The American University (KOGOD School of Business Administration), Washington DC- 1987.
