Senior Associate

Mariana Errazquin is a Senior Associate at the firm. She specializes in Administrative Law and her practice is devoted primarily to Family Law and Litigation.

She has a degree in Law from the University of the Republic, and later followed postgraduate studies in Public Law in the University of the Republic from 1990 to 1993. She also obtained a Master’s degree in Economic Administrative Law from the University of Montevideo in 2012.

Besides her membership in the Uruguayan Bar Association, she is also a charter member and current chairman of the Board of Directors of the Christian Juridical Institute, Uruguay, an affiliate of the Inter American Christian Lawyers Federation (FIAIC).

She represents the firm’s clients in actions before the Litigation Administrative Court, namely the action promoted by the ENCE group against a Government resolution that prioritized diamond prospecting in forested land. She prepared the legal report annexed to the risk rating of the financial trust that restructured CASMU liabilities. She provided advice to Banco Santander as the lead arranger of the debt securities issued by the state-owned electricity company UTE.

In addition to her practice at the firm, she has a broad experience as legal advisor to the Government. In this regard, she worked at the Legal Counsel Office of the Ministry of National Defense in 1990-1991. Since then she has been working at the Legal Counsel Office of the Presidency. Since 2015 she supervises that office.

  • 2018 – Advised Grupo Vía Central in the preparation of the offer and during the request for bids for the PPP project of Ferrocarril Central.
  • 2018 – Advised S.A. de Obras y Servicios Copasa and Espina Obras Hidráulicas S.A. in the PPP project Circuit 0.
  • 2018 – Favorable sentence in the Administrative Court in a trial between Fideicomiso Ganadería Tres Millones (Banco Santander) and Intendencia de Flores.
  • 2017 – Advised Public Sector Pension Fund Investment Board (PSP) in the preparation and presentation of their offering for the acquisition of the forestal companies Weyerhaeuser, in Uruguay.
  • 2017 – Advised Sacyr in the preparation of the offers for the international public biddings of Public Private Participation (PPP) for the design, construction and financing of the road infraestructure.
  • 2016 – Advised Immobiliaria Pam S.A. In the offering of the winning bidder in the bidding for INAU headquarters.
