Mariana C. Errazquin is an associate with the firm. She specializes in Administrative Law and her practice also includes Family Law and Litigation.
Graduated from the University of Uruguay, School of Law asDoctor in Law and Social Sciences in 1990, she obtained a Degree in Public Law in the year 1993 from the same university; she also obtained a Master Degree in Economic Administrative Law from the University of Montevideo in the year 2007. She is a member of the Uruguayan Bar Association and founder and member of the Board of Directors of the Christian Legal Institute (Advocates International).
She has ample experience providing advice to the Public Administration and to local and multinational companies in various aspects of Administrative Law. In particular, she recently drafted the legal opinion attached to the credit rating of the financial trust created to restructure CASMU’s debt (CASMU is a medical group that owns various hospital complexes in Uruguay). She has represented Banco Santander in public biddings before the state-owned electricity company (UTE). She has ongoing litigation practice before the administrative courts, namely, she is challenging on behalf of ENCE Group a resolution that gave priority to the search of diamonds by another company on Ence’s forested lands, and she is challenging a resolution of the Colonization Institute that seized land purchased by an investment group in Maldonado, Uruguay. She recently obtained a favorable judicial decision on a claim against the Social Security Authority (Banco de Previsión Social) arising out of the payment of social security contributions.
Aside from the practice of law, she has a long history of public service providing legal advice to the Administration. She served in the Ministry of Defense from 1990 to 1991 and since 1991 onwards she is working in the Legal Department of the Presidency of the Republic.
