Nicolas Brause is an associate with the firm. He specializes in litigation and his practice also includes Commercial Law, Banking Law and Real Estate Law.

Graduated from the University of Uruguay, School of Law in the year 2006 as Doctor in Law and Social Sciences, he is currently finishing his Master Degree in Business Law at the University of Montevideo, School of Law.He is a member of the Uruguayan Bar Association.

He has profuse experience representing local and multinational companies in complex litigation. He also has experience providing advice to legal departments of financial institutions. He is currently participating in the defense of class actions filed by distressed creditors of Banco Montevideo against ABN AMRO Bank and ING Bank, and he is also representing the Uruguayan Central Bank in its defense to class actions filed by distressed creditors of BancoComercial. Between the years 2006 and 2008 he provided advice to the legal department of ABN AMRO Bank, and since 2008 he provides daily advice to the Department of Special Assets of BancoItau. 

He authored the article on mortgages called, “New Law Speeds up Judicial Procedures” and co-authored the article called, “Severe (and unconstitutional?) Restrictions on Private Residential Resorts”, both of which were published in the journal El Observador in the year 2008.

He is proficient in Spanish and English.
