Jiménez de Aréchaga, Viana & Brause participated in the Annual Plenary Session of the Women in the Profession Chapter of the Cyrus Vance Center

The Seminar was entitled “An Interdisciplinary Perspective on Gender Issues: Challenges and Best Practices”, sponsored by the main Chilean Law Firms, with more than 200 attendants. Its keynote speaker was Gonzalo Smith, Corporative Manager of Legal Issues and Governance of Falabella. His presentation centered on the why and how of diversity in the workplace.
Meanwhile, the editor of Legal 500, Tim Girven, presented an analysis about the growth of women lawyers and members in Perú, Dominican Republic, Chile and Mexico.
Virginia Brause, Founding Partner of the firm and member of the Steering Committee of the Vance Center’s WIP Chapter, also participated in its annual meeting which coordinated its activities on member countries in America, and co-presented the projected Uruguayan events for 2019. Dr. Brause stated that “Jiménez de Aréchaga, Viana & Brause is proud to comply with the best practices, duly updated to assure the equal opportunities of female lawyers in our firm. Tools already in force in our firm, such as the Professional Career Plan, the Female Lawyers Program, and the amount of female lawyers, amongst others, evidences our engagement with this issue.”
The Conference was held in parallel of the Intenational Bar Association’s Latin American Regional Conference about Mergers & Acquisitions in Chile, which members of our Firm attented alongside more than 800 other lawyers from around the world.
